Hey Everyone! ) Iโm Anna and welcome to my channel. Here, I post some useful information for English learners. Iโm from Ukraine and Iโve worked on my English and accent, for the most part, on my own, but you can find out and trace my story by watching my videos. Iโve been studying American pronunciation for a long time, and I still do, and I guess I always will โ because itโs not math. Learning a language, itโs a lifetime journey. I know exactly what it takes to become fluent and acquire an accent in a non-English speaking country, and Iโve never even been to one. And Iโm sharing this information here โ on my channel.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO
In this video, I talk about the 3 things you must do in order to improve your English. The good news is that you can totally do these things by yourself, alone at home. You don't need a teacher to point out every mistake in order to improve. You just need to focus on input, output, and study.
Input is surrounding yourself with the language, creating your own "immersion" experience. This means you can listen to music in English, watch videos in English, read in English, listen to podcasts, etc. This will help your brain absorb the language and become familiar with it.
However, input alone is not enough. You also need output. You need to practice speaking and writing. You need to USE the language. This means you can practice English with a language partner, start a YouTube channel, create a blog-- it doesn't matter! As long as you are consistently communicating in English, you will sharpen your ability to use the language.
And finally, you need study. If you only consume English and use it, without actually looking into your weaknesses and how you can improve the language, it's very likely that your will plateau. You will stop improving. If you want to avoid this, you need to constantly be analyzing your English and how you can improve it. What sounds can you improve when you speak? What grammar constructions can you practice and improve? What new words are you learning around you?
I highly recommend that you keep track of what you learn and review it frequently if you want to improve your English. You can write in a journal by hand or use online tools. Personally, I really like Instagram for keeping track of progress, because you can add images that will help you remember what you learned and then write a unique description. You can explain what it is you learned, how you learned it, etc. Then, whenever you are bored, you can scroll through your account to review new words, phrases, etc.
In this video I also talk about my English and Spanish. I'm a native English speaker, but I'm also fluent in Spanish. However, my Spanish has definitely plateaued. I don't actively seek to improve it because I reached the level I wanted and my Spanish is good enough for me to use it in the ways that I want. This is also something for you to consider... how good does your English need to be in order for you to reach your goals?
I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something new! It's good to be back, and I can't wait to make another video for everyone here.
Talk soon!
Stefanie

TRANSCRIPT:
Hi! Bob the Canadian here! Letโs learn English around the house. Come on in!
Hi, Bob the Canadian here. Welcome to this video. If this is your first time here donโt forget to click the subscribe button below, and give me a thumbs up at some point during this video if itโs helping you learn English.
Well today weโre going to learn some English words and phrases that you can use to describe a house. I just came in through the front door. Houses generally have a front door and a back door. Iโll show you that one a bit later. And Iโm standing in the front entrance or the entranceway of the house. Itโs a little warm so Iโm going to take off my coat and youโll notice behind me there is a coat hanger. So Iโm going to hang my coat here and Iโm going to do what we traditionally do in Canada, and that is that Iโm going to take off my shoes.
Before we go any further though, I want to thank Barb the Canadian for letting me use her house today to make this video, to help you learn English.
The front entranceway also usually has a closet where you can hang coats and other items. So especially in the winter when you come into a home you might want to hang your coat in the closet if thereโs not enough room on the coat hangers.
So youโll notice behind me here the kitchen. The kitchen is one of my favourite rooms in the house. I really like food so I really like kitchens. Youโll notice behind me here that a kitchen has a certain number of items. We have the refrigerator or the fridge, where you can keep food cold. This fridge has a freezer on the bottom. We also have the stove and generally we call this part the oven, where you would bake things, and over here we have the stove where you would cook things. If you look behind me here youโll see we have a sink, so when youโre all done making your food and eating your food you can do the dishes, you can wash the dishes in the sink.
